ok question the first imo isuited more for 4-3-3 n second more for 3-5-2. do u think conte will go back to 4-3-3 like he did against seina, or stick to 3-5-2. I really want matri-quags up top n vucinic stroming off might help, i have my fingers crossed

    • http://www.reflyhadiwijaya.net/ Refly

I think Conte will go with the 3-5-2 again. It’s just a matter of choosing the right players. I say something like this will work: Buffon; Barzagli, Boner, Chiello; Choo choo train, King Arturo, Jon Bon Pirlo, Little Goblin (based on current form, it’s Giak over Principino), Kelso; Eta beta, Matatatatatri. ADP to partner Eta Beta or Matri won’t be bad too.

      • http://www.rcl.nl/ Chuks A.

Against a two man strikeforce with a narrow midfield like Milan, I’m fine with 3-5-2. But vs. 1 or 3 man strikeforces and mediocre teams (Cagliari, Bologna, Cesena etc.), I would prefer our usual 4-3-3 (which we haven’t seen in a long time now)

        • http://www.reflyhadiwijaya.net/ Refly

I don’t really mind which formation Conte choose (although I’m a bit more inclined to the 3-5-2 just because it can accomodate 2 strikers and MVP midfield), for me it’s more choosing the right players rather than the formation. A 4-3-3 with Lazynic-Matri-Pepe won’t work well against the small teams compared to a 4-3-3 with Elia/ADP/Giak/Vucinic(un-Lazynic)-Matri-Quags.

          • http://www.rcl.nl/ Chuks A.

True, but equally I think the balance of types of players is important in the selection (and formation)

If we pump too many forwards into our lineup, we’re gonna become congested and narrow in the middle in our attacks, lacking width. If we have too many wingers we’re gonna leave the center open and become overreliant on crossing. But I do still think formation is important, also for how accustomed to certain formations some of our players are…

  • Ali_saltanat

We just need to play our “good” game , we can beat them with confidence !!! Our advantage is their Fear … let’s do it Ragazzi … #ForzaJuve

  • http://www.rcl.nl/ Chuks A.

A draw would be fine as long as we win our game in hand vs. Bologna… If we don’t then we’ll probably need a win in Milan, which idk if we can get it with Milan kicking into gear lately (as they always do around this time of the season)

  • http://JuventiKNOWS.com TeamGREASE

Congratulations to the Primavera for a Roma 1-2 Juventus Viareggio Cup Victory! The Primavera lift the trophy for the eighth time in the club’s history. GRANDEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

  • Baaner

What is the status with Zlatan? Milan apealed the suspension but when will it start?
Though I have been a bit annoyed with some of the players playing lately, I think that we should choose the 3-5-2 which worked perfectly in the cup.
barzagli, bonucci, chiellini, caceres, vidal, il principo, pirlo, estiga, matri, quag is my suggestion

    • http://www.juventiknows.com Marco P.

Decision on ban reduction should be made on Thursday they said.

      • Anonymous

I wonder whether that would ever so slightly disturb Milan’s preparation. In simple words, they wouldn’t know what kind of game they will be playing until Thursday.

    • Anthony

I would pick De Ceglie over Estigarribia. The rest of the line up looks good though. Del Piero deserves to play too though. Second half sub for sure.

  • demyan

i get totally frustrated by the ongoing comments when someone tries to reflect on Juve’s success and, more specifically, comparisons to Milan. Last week it was Ibra. Saying we have an advantage that we play once a week while they play three. It’s a simple fact – no doubt – but making such inference from the fact that we play only once is probably unethical, first of all to his own club. If you want to play once a week, finish 7th. if you were and want to be a champion again, dont mention playing frequency and get used to work rather than get banned.

  • Bassel

“Confident we can do this” is my exact stand, i do believe that in normal circumstances were we play as we showed we can play, i really think we’d beat them. So am absolutely confident and there is no place for fear.

That said, a game against one of the milanisti sides is always intimidating regardless of what sort of form we’r in, and whats on stake is a scudetto which would be my favorite over all the previous 29 as it will represent once again the happy ending of the rise of the Phoenix from under the ashes story. Yes, this game will have a huge effect on who wins the scudetto IMHO.

Juventini…… what is your profession? Grinta, grinta, grinta

  • Fans Layar Kaca Juventus

I’m not that confident. Milan plays very well without Ibra. They play with more collectivity without him. We must exploit their midfield with our speed and stamina. And we hope that our finihing is better than before

  • Anonymous

    2 ppl voted terrified? :o

  • Lorena0504

I believe if Juve plays its natural game and Conte replaces Bonucci with Caceres, we have great chance to come even closer of wining Scudetto this year. Also, a great bonus for us is absence of both Princess Boateng and Ibra.

  • Requiem

With 3-5-2 we may keep clean sheet. But if Milan’s players won’t make brainfarts in defence like last time, then game will end 0-0.

4-4-2: Buffon; Lichtsteineri, Barzagli, Chiellini, De Ceglie; Pepe, Vidal, Pirlo, Mirko/Elia; Quagliarella/Del Piero, Matri. But it just won’t happen.

  • AlaskaJuventino

Guys I really miss the podcast. Any word on when the next one will be? Cheers!

    • Hanso

I completely agree. It is almost two months since last time.
      Otherwise fantastic work guys!

    • agiamba

      Looking at a post-Milan pod…

  • PAristy

What about a 4-5-1 like the first time we face them?

This second option would be better in my opinion, it give us more defensive stability

Revealed: Iaquinta’s real source of injuries and dip of form.

        • Dirtbunny

Yeah, they can all be traced to that time when Melo impaled him on the spikes of a security fence.  Poor Vince.

      • Dirtbunny

Yes we can.  Still not gonna be sober when I watch it.

    • http://twitter.com/SJ_SETHI SJ_JUVE

Mate I m not sure what the outcome of the game is going to be but one thing i am sure be it 1 red crad bogus or not, own goal or robinho scoring hatrick. It is not going to rattle the squad, in fact conte will make sure when the y come out in the second half whether with 10 man or even 9 man make milan pee in their shorts like what we did against napoli.

No matter what happens with conte as manager they arenot going to collapse on field at max one half coz the players know if they dont give their best there will be a scarier monster waiting for them in the dressing room.

      • Dirtbunny

This game is the test to see if the grinta is as real as it seems.  I think it’s real.  I desperately want it to be real.  But the connoisseur of doom in me wants me to be prepared for the worst.  That reminds me:  should probably put another bottle of Prosecco in to chill.  I don’t think one is going to be enough.

    • http://JuventiKNOWS.com TeamGREASE

I made the poll this week, and it was a bit of a loaded question from my view point… while I AM curious as to what everyone’s confidence levels are for the upcoming match, it was purposefully phrased “a Juventus victory”…

my view is that WE are the underdogs. Do I think we’ll win? Yes. Will I be angry if we lose? No.

the most important thing for me against Milan is that Juventus go out there and play with fkn balls and kick their ass all over the field… If we show grinta, fire, and brimstone but draw or lose I’d be ok with that.

I think the Milan fans are more nervous than we are.

      • Dirtbunny

Sure they can win.  They are good enough and Milan has had a good amount of unexpected suck.  But I keep thinking about all those matches against the donkeys that they should have won and didn’t.

I hope I’m wrong.  Wouldn’t be the first time.

  • http://twitter.com/TFalaknaz Tariq Falaknaz

I’m not so confident this time, even if Boateng is injured & Ibra is out, SAS provides a spark of unpredictability which we lack up-front, which terrifies our defenses. Combine that with Robinho’s recent form and Maxi’s surprise performance and you have a very worrying attack. We managed to score 3 goals vs a 10man Catania, they don’t have Thiago Silva & Nesta defending.

Very tough, I call it a draw or loss, 2-2 or 3-2 to Milan.

  • GiGi_1

Ibra not going to make it

    *Juventini confidence levels dropping dramatically*

    My thoughts this week:

    1. I may be crucified for saying so, but Giovinco would do so much better playing Vucinic’s creative attacking role, especially in the attacking trident. Bring him back.

    2. On that note STOP PLAYING VUCINIC AGAINST SMALLER TEAMS / STARTING HIM AT ALL. So frustrating to watch. Sure he does great things, but nothing another player on our squad cant do in a much more enthusiastic, less painful to watch way.
Ex: Even Giaccherini dribbling into the keeper’s arms is better than Vucinic passing into the keeper’s arms.

    3. Padoin seemed to be getting criticized unfairly on twitter… not everyone scores a brace on their debut. He’s new to this team, and his crosses seemed quite good. He’s versatile, and should become a valuable asset to this team.

    4. Quagliarella is starting to show what he can do when allowed to find his form and given a real chance. Matri may be slumping, but he’s still our best striker. QUAGLIAMATRI ftw, please.

    5. It’s great to hear that Ibrahimovic is suspended, but I REALLY hope that Boateng doesn’t regain fitness in time to play, either. He could really put a damper on Pirlo, and I would hate for him to be unable to play his best at the San Siro in a match of this importance!

    6. I am now certain that it is not merely my Juve bias when I claim Chiellini and Barzagli should be Italy’s starting center back duo in front of Buffon. Stats show it, they have chemistry with each other, it’s a no-brainer. ITALJUVE ftw.

    This is all.

    • http://iltifosi.tumblr.com/ Adam Digby

Weston you are so wrong about Vucinic. He rarely, if ever passes the ball to the keepers arms. The idiot is too busy rifling it into the side netting from a stupid angle, taking the impossible shots the opposition defences are only too happy to give him. 9 shots last weekend NINE!!!! Now, where’d Conte leave that nailed bat?

    • agiamba

I agree with absolutely every one of your points.

      • https://profiles.google.com/WPazzurri/about Weston (@wpazzurri)

Thank you. It feels good to know the ramblings in my head are approved of by an expert such as yourself haha

        • agiamba

I’m no expert, just another rambling nutjob.

It is a pleasure to ramble with you all the same.
